Goodbye Bafana is the true story of a white South African racist, James Gregory, whose life was profoundly altered by the black prisoner he guarded for twenty years. The prisoner's name was Nelson Mandela. Uncomfortable with the treatment of black prisoners, Gregory risks his security and that of his family, death threats and isolation by his peers when he sympathises with the black freedom cause.

In post-WWII Germany, teenager Michael Berg becomes ill and is helped home by Hanna, a stranger twice his age. Michael recovers from scarlet fever and seeks out Hanna to thank her. The two are quickly drawn into a passionate but secretive affair. Michael discovers that Hanna loves being read to and their physical relationship deepens. Despite their intense bond, Hanna mysteriously disappears one day and Michael is left confused and heartbroken. Eight years later, while Michael is a law student observing the Nazi war crime trials, he is stunned to find Hanna back in his life - this time as a defendant in the courtroom. As Hanna's past is revealed, Michael uncovers a deep secret that will impact both of their lives. The Reader is a story about truth and reconciliation, about how one generation comes to terms with the crimes of another. Stars Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes.

This small British comedy struggled to find a distributer after it was made on a tiny budget during the wettest summer in years, but then it became a smash hit in village halls and film societies across the South West. The film follows the fortunes of a Morris dancing newcomer as he and his team try to modernise the most traditional, and at some times daft, of all dances. Stars a host of British actors, including Clive Mantle and Derek Jacobi.

A Special Evening which we hope will be introduced by Warminster resident Lucinda Philips, sister-in-law of Aung San Suu Kyi, Burma’s democratically elected President under house arrest since 1989. Using smuggled footage, this documentary tells the story of the 2007 protests in Burma by thousands of monks. A unique and powerful story of a struggle for freedom.

This award-winning film is set in the days before Christmas near a little-known border crossing on the Mohawk reservation between New York State and Quebec. Here, the lure of fast money from smuggling presents a daily challenge to single mothers who would otherwise be earning minimum wage. Two women - one white, one Mohawk, both single mothers faced with desperate circumstances - are drawn into the world of border smuggling across the frozen water of the St. Lawrence River in an evolving cat-and-mouse game.
